Brats… for more than grilling?

Did you know there is a whole lot more to brats than just grilling? I’ll admit that, until here lately, I did not realize! Here is a recipe for you to try out with some Brats from the Ranch. Call us for availability.

Ingredients:

1 lb Brats from Three16 Ranch, uncooked*

16 oz rigatoni pasta

8 oz cream cheese

14.5 oz diced tomatoes with garlic and onion

3/4 cup chicken broth

1/2 tsp garlic powder

1/2 tsp dried oregano

1/2 tsp dried basil

1/4 tsp dried thyme

1 tsp black pepper

1/2 tsp cayenne pepper

2 tsp paprika

1 tsp seasoned salt

Instructions:

  1. Cook pasta according to instructions.

  2. In a large skillet, saute brats on medium high until cooked through, about ten minutes.

    • Consider unconventional methods, such as boiling Brats in beer for added flavor

  3. Cut cooked sausage into small pieces and return to the pan.

  4. To the skillet, add 8 oz cream cheese and diced tomatoes and reduce heat to low. Stir constantly until cream cheese melts.

  5. Add spices and chicken broth into skillet, stir until well combined.

  6. Add cooked pasta to skillet, stir and serve.

    • Also consider substituting the diced tomatoes and some of the seasoning for pasta sauce. My kids prefer this!
